A New Milestone, World Seafood Shanghai (SIFSE) 2017 Opens Today

Adhering to the host’s pursuit of improvement and innovation, the 12th World Seafood Shanghai (SIFSE) opens on Aug 19 after a year’s elaborate preparation, showing visitors the delicious seafood from all over the world.

Joining hands with the 8th Shanghai International Catering and Ingredients Exhibition (SHICAI), the 3-day exhibition sets up 5 exhibition halls and 12 concurrent activities, attracting 1,000 exhibitors and estimated 50,000 visitors, which predicts a successful exhibition in August. Stepping into its 12th edition, World Seafood Shanghai (SIFSE) has evolved from pursuit of sheer scale increase to that of quality improvement. The organizers are committed to bringing the most brilliant 3-day exhibition in this year to both the exhibitors and visitors through strict quality control on exhibitors, optimized planning and better services for visitors.

Gathering guests, leaders of various sectors and industry associations

The exhibition is organized with ITE Group, Shanghai Gehua Exhibition Planning Company, Shanghai ITE Gehua Exhibition Service Company, China Aquatic Production Chamber of Commerce (APCC) and Shanghai Fisheries Trade Association, supported by the People’s Government of Changhai County, Dalian Marine Industry Development Association, Shanghai Fisheries Trade Association, Shanghai Research Institute of Fisheries Economy and Shanghai Changxing Hengsha Fishing Port Co., Ltd. and has attracted attention of related parties since its preparation.

Mr. Han Youheng, Executive Director of Shanghai ITE Gehua Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., announced the official commencement of the World Seafood Shanghai (SIFSE) 2017 at the opening ceremony. 7 Wonderful Concurrent Activities

The exhibition has set up 7 high-level concurrent activities of varied formats centering on the themes of exhibition, promotion and communication, which are “Gfresh 丨 Dalian• Changhai County Geographical Indication - Selected Seafood Introduction Campaign”, "2017 Aquatic Product Industry Development Forum", "Seafood Tasting Session", "Business Match-making Session for International Importers", "Business Match-making Session for Bailian Group", “Business Match-making Session for Catering Industry” and "Excellent Suppliers Selection and Award Ceremony".

The 2017 Aquatic Product Industry Development Forum will invite diplomatic envoys from major fishery countries and representatives from fishery administrations, associations and trade dealers, importers and exporters, inspection and quarantine bureaus and clearing companies, providing the participants with insights of policies, opportunities and a communication platform within the industry. The speakers include Mr. Wu Changchan (Secretary General of Shanghai Fisheries Trade Association), Mr. Yuan Daoliang (Deputy Secretary-General of China Fisheries Association Trade Commerce), Mr. Zhong Hai (Deputy Director of Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau), Prof. Ning Xibin (Shanghai Ocean University) and Mr. Sigmund Bjørgo (NSC Director China)

On the ‘Seafood Tasting Session’ Promotion, while providing seafood to visitors for them to enjoy, representatives from Dalian(China), Ecuador, Norway and Canada integrate the introduction of local seafood cultures and features with cooking, and help domestic and international buyers have a better understanding of the advantages of their fishery industry and products in order to facilitate targeted purchasing for buyers.

The ‘Business Match-making Session’ establishes another easy and effective channel for buyers and exhibitors in the form of trade matching. This is one of the most popular zones in the exhibition with 2 Bailian purchasing companies, 15 representatives from HoReCa and 8 international seafood exporters invited.
