The 13th Shanghai International Fisheries & Seafood Expo (SIFSE 2018) Concludes Successfully, Looking Forward to Meeting You Again in 2019!

From August 29 to August 31, the 13th Shanghai International Fisheries & Seafood Expo (World Seafood Shanghai 2018), co-sponsored by China Aquatic Production Chamber of Commerce (APCC), Shanghai Fisheries Trade Association (SFTA) and Shanghai ITE Gehua Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., was held in Shanghai New International Expo Center. Tian Quanhai - President of APCC, Pu Shaohua - President of SFTA, Yu Zhilong - Deputy Secretary General of Dalian Municipal People's Government, Li Yun - Deputy Director of Dalian City Oceanic and Fishery Administration, Huang Minhao - President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Ningde Committee, Yu Xisheng - Deputy Head of the People's Government of Changhai County, Victoria Braathen – Director-China of Norwegian Seafood Council, Wu Xiongyong - Chairman of Vietnam Pangasius Association, Kim Taehong – Representative from Korean National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives Shanghai Representative Office, Ge Jinhai - Executive President of Aquatic products Commerce Branch of China Fishery Association and other leaders and guests attended the exposition.


The 13th Shanghai International Fisheries & Seafood Expo (World Seafood Shanghai 2018) concluded successfully at Shanghai New International Expo Center on Aug 31. This exhibition and Shanghai International Catering and Ingredients Exhibition were held simultaneously, bringing together 1503 companies from 21 countries and regions including the United States, South Korea, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Denmark, Canada, Ecuador, Thailand, Oman, Chile, Pakistan, the Netherlands, Scotland, Indonesia, Vietnam, Venezuela, Mexico, China and Taiwan area. The exhibition area was over 60,000 square meters and the exhibits cover the fields of aquaculture, production and processing, distribution, catering and ingredients, etc. With its international level, leading exhibition quality and refreshing innovative forum activities, the exhibition received warm response and support from the exhibitors and visitors. The three-day exhibition attracted a total of 56,493 visitors from 59 countries and regions for visit or negotiation. It enabled the industry insiders to understand the cutting-edge developments in the industry and see through clearly the consumption demand under the upgrading of consumption. The economic and trade negotiation at the exhibition brought them unlimited business opportunities. It also provided a professional, high-end and effective exchange and cooperation platform for the development of the global fishery industry.


During the exhibition, in addition to product centralized exhibition, a number of colorful activities were held at the same time. The activities were divided into four types, i.e. industry forum, product release, professional competition and project promotion. While providing value-added services for exhibitors, these activities also provided industry development barometer for domestic and overseas travelling merchants. 


“Seafood Taste Session”. Centering on the theme of "health, freshness and innovation", this activity took seafood as materials and arranged senior chefs to give the audience face-to-face cooking explanations and on-site appreciation, so that they could savor “seafood on the tip of the tongue”.


"Beautiful Mekong River, Delicious Pangasius". During this special promotion activity for Pangasius, Vietnamese Pangasius vendors and Chinese importers were gathering in Shanghai to jointly explore a new mode of cooperation on Pangasius, so as to make the China-Vietnam fishery cooperation more mutually beneficial.


“2018 China • First Salmon Industry Development Summit Forum”. The forum gathered global salmon practitioners in China for the first time, including international salmon original brand manufacturers, well-known domestic processing manufacturers, domestic first-level importers and bulk distributors, salmon associations and scientific research institutions, and purchasing representatives of new retail, e-commerce, shopping mall supermarket, large restaurant chain and other channels. At the forum, they discussed about the future of China's salmon industry.


"Oriental Fishermen's Night" set up an exchange platform to establish ties, communicate with each other, deepen friendship and promote cooperation for high-end groups in the industries of fishery and seafood, catering and ingredients at home and abroad.



In addition, government agencies and industry bodies from all over the country also held promotional activities at the expo. The “2018 Dalian Seafood Treasures Promoting and Tasting Party” jointly sponsored by the Dalian City Ocean and Fishery Administration and the People's Government of Changhai County had been held for two consecutive sessions, aiming to actively promote the real quality of “Dalian seafood which is famous throughout China for its freshness” and use the expo platform to strongly promote the local characteristic food industry to the world.
